The hotel had a great location, with beautiful views of the nearby lake and mountains. The room was clean and had everything we needed, including tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home during our city break.
There were some downsides to our stay. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed for the winter, leaving us with limited food options.

If you are going to visit aughnanure castle, you can stay here. Exceptional prices and free Wi Fi in public areas. Even the Connemara airport was not so far.

Comfortable and "old fashioned". Off season, minimal staff so bar/restaurant staff had to check-in and check out. Like early morning walk but was unable to leave as no one on duty in reception to unlock door. Liked hotel though!

The hotel has a cozy and warm atmosphere, with friendly staff and comfortable beds. the room was nice and warm, with fresh bed linen and towels. There were tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was freshly prepared and well presented, with a variety of cereals and juices available. the hotel is located close to a lake, providing a scenic view.
The bar area had midges due to the nearby lake.

The bed was comfortable.
Yes. The bar area was full of Midges, the barman said it was a result of the lake nearby. There was a smell of kerosene/must in reception. Reception closed early forcing all guests to travel through the bar to access their rooms. Laser was not accepted in the bar, this meant youhad to pay for drinks at reception. Breakfast was terrible, the food was dried out and cold, OJ was horrible. The whole hotel needs to be redecorated, the decor is very outdated and sparce. Th price is far too much for such a mediocor hotel. It's a 2 star at best.

It was easy to find being on the main N59 towards Connemara. The bedroom was quiet and there was ample car parking space.

We enjoyed a drink in the old world bar with a nice and cozy atmosphere. the location was perfect, with plenty of shopping options nearby. We also appreciated the extra coffee and shampoo provided by the staff.
The midges were a bit of a nuisance in the bar area. we noticed a kerosene/musty smell in the reception.
